Is Ignition Casino Legal in Wyoming?

The Warning’s Exact Words
The Wyoming Gaming Commission’s May 2025 release didn’t hedge. Larramendy’s statement named the categories directly — online casino, iGaming, sweepstakes — and noted that some of these operators register Wyoming LLCs and display Wyoming addresses to look domestic, when the actual company sits offshore with zero state oversight. The release also flagged something worth taking seriously on its own: the Commission can’t intervene in a payout dispute with an offshore site, because enforcing Wyoming law against a company with no US presence isn’t something the state can actually do.
What the Warning Doesn’t Change
None of that reaches a player the way it reaches the platform. The warning is aimed at operators and at consumer awareness — it isn’t a new criminal statute, and it doesn’t retroactively criminalize an account a Wyoming resident already opened. What it does confirm, officially, is something this page would otherwise have to infer from silence: Wyoming’s gaming regulator has looked directly at sites like Ignition and said, on the record, that none of them are licensed here. Gov. Mark Gordon signed House Enrolled Act 50 (HB 133) on April 5, 2021, and the market opened September 1 that year. Wyoming’s model skipped the step nearly every other state took: no retail sportsbook, no casino partnership requirement, just a licensed mobile app. The state taxes operators at 10% of gross gaming revenue and set the minimum betting age at 18 — younger than the 21-and-up standard almost every other legal state uses.
